Joint Meeting with the Hudson-Mohawk Professional Geologists Association

NYSCPG-HMPGA Joint Meeting

The New York State Council of Professional Geologists will hold a joint meeting with the Hudson-Mohawk Professional Geologists Association on Weds. Nov. 18th, 2015 at the Century House in Latham, NY from 1-8 pm.

Schedule:

1:00-2:30 pm: NYSCPG Annual Membership Business Meeting

2:30 – 5:00 pm: Presentations on Professional Geologist Licensure

  • Mark Williams: Overview of NYSCPG and History of Licensure Effort in NYS – Mark Williams
  • Michael Rygel: Overview of implications for Higher Education.
  • John Nadeau and Peter O'Connell - Licensure and the Individual
  • John Nadeau and Peter O’Connell - Licensure and Corporations
  • Dave Johnson - Accountant discussing affections of transitions to a professional corporation
  • Corporate attorney (TBD) - legal implication of transitioning to a PC
  • Open forum for questions not dealt with during the talks

5:00-6:00 pm: Social Hour

6:00-7:00: Dinner

7:00-8:00: Evening presentation “Sticks and Stones: How the Evolution of Land Plants Changed Clastic Depositional Systems” by Michael Rygel

1) Full Day (includes afternoon session, dinner & evening presentation).  Cost: $35/person

2) Evening Program (includes dinner & evening presentation).  Cost: $10.00 for student members, $20.00 for dormant geologists, $25.00 for members, $30.00 for non-members.

3) Evening Presentation Only: Free
